Devin Townsend is continuing to stay busy during the COVID-19 quarantine and has now dropped a podcast. A couple weeks back, the frontman asked on Twitter if there was any interest about a podcast focused on particular albums in his catalog. Eventually, the consensus was to start with Ocean Machine and name the podcast, The Devin Townsend Podcast.
“For the next instalment of the ‘Quarantine Project’, maybe Ill do a podcast on a particular album in my catalog. Which one should be first? (Thanks again for supporting all this, for real…working on a ton of things for you)”
“Ok, actually Ill start with Ocean Machine. If you have questions about the album, or individual songs, or lyrics etc, give them to me here and Ill answer them on the Podcast…ok?”
As promised, the first episode focuses on Ocean Machine and provides an in-depth analysis of the record:
So heres the first ‘episode’ of my podcast. Until I get a feel for it, I figured Id just start by doing a series on the albums Ive released…an overview and more in depth analysis of each seems like a relatively easy way of figuring out the format. Its maybe a bit long winded, but undoubtedly Ill learn to tighten it up. This one is about Ocean Machine, so if you want to hear me waffle on in the background about that album while youre going about your day…youre in luck! Terria will be next, but I’ll probably get through all of them eventually Id think.
