After Metal Insider broke the news that Necrophobic vocalist Tobias Sidegard had been arrested on allegations of abuse towards his wife and children, we received a not-so-nice response from the singer. While the band was more cautious in response, having been caught off guard, they’ve now had enough. Sidegard was found guilty on two counts of abuse in September and the band has made a decision on the singer’s fate now that the verdict is passed.
They have parted ways with the vocalist, releasing the following statement on their Facebook page, saying Sidegard will also release a statement regarding the split via his page which currently says he is still employed by the band.
NECROPHOBIC CONTINUE WITHOUT TOBIAS SIDEGÅRD.
Tobias is no longer a member of NECROPHOBIC. The verdict following his trial regrettably left us, the band, with no other choice. As stated before, NECROPHOBIC do not accept or tolerate domestic violence in any way.
We will now search for a replacement.
Tobias will make a statement of his own within the next couple of days, which he will publish on his Facebook page:
Necrophobic’s new album Womb of Lilithu, is still scheduled to be released on October 25th.
