When it comes to expand your marketing horizons, you probably are thinking on Kiss’ absurdly huge line of products they have, but there are others who think outside of the box in a much better and not-so-horrendous way. When British legends, Iron Maiden, were to release their latest album The Book of Souls, ther released a new music video consisting of a video game-like animation for “Speed of Light;” then they proceeded to release an 8-bit video game based on that music video; and eventually they announced their mobile game Iron Maiden: Legacy of The Beast.
The band released a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming free-to-play RPG showing the iconic Maiden mascot Eddie about to face with Satan himself and it looks really damn good. The description for the game reads as follows:
A mysterious force is intent on destroying Eddie, shattering his soul into a million shards. He begins his journey blindsided and stripped of his power, yet still possessing just enough fury to fuel his fight. With each victory, he regains more power and strength, collecting the shards of his soul, supercharging his skills and electrifying his attitude!
[…] Play as Eddie and gather your team to fight the forces of true evil through worlds based on the lore and music of Iron Maiden.
Gameplay is enhanced with a powerful soundtrack using songs spanning the band’s entire career, including previously unreleased versions of live Iron Maiden classics adapted for the game by engineer Tony Newton under the close scrutiny of Steve Harris.
While the footage is not like the actual game play will look like, it still make us very excited about and for a free-to-play video game, I will take anything with the “Iron Maiden” tag in it. Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast will come out at some point later this year and will be available on Android and iOS platform.
