Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien released from jail

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office records, Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien was released from Jail this past Friday (14th) at 21:01 after making the bail that was set to $50,000. Based on the record report, O’Brien had to pay a $30,000 surety bond for his charge of Burglary of occupied dwelling with assault, and another $20,000 surety bond for being charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

O’Brien was arrested on Monday (10th),  just four days after the band wrapped up their North American Fall tour, for apparently breaking into someone’s home, refusing to leave, pushing a woman, then fleeing to the backyard. Once the authorities found him, O’Brian charged at them with a knife. All of this happened during the same time Hillsborough County Rescue responded to a fire, which happened to be O’Brian’s home.  The guitarist made his first court appearance on Tuesday (11th) and it was later reported that ammunition and flamethrowers were found in his home.

Although the band nor label hasn’t issued a statement on this matter, Cannibal Corpse drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz’s wife, Deana, launched a crowdfunding campaign via mightycause expressing that the guitarist lost everything in the house fire.

Cannibal Corpse are scheduled to support another leg of Slayer’s final North American trek next year. While the band hasn’t responded, Gary Holt (Exodus/Slayer) issued the following statement via Instagram:

Okay people, here’s the new fundraising page for Pat, via mightycause.com .Gofundme shut down due to some stupid policy issue or whatever.

He needs help, is gonna need help for a while, not talking about legal help, although he will need that too. But he’s gonna have a long road to travel. This is for his rehabilitation. People think Cannibal Corpse are millionaires and shit, they play death metal. One can make a living at it but they ain’t rich and he lost EVERYTHING. Help a metal brother out”
