Knotfest 2014Slipknot is  back. That much became apparent by the announcement over the weekend by the return of the Knotfest, the band’s festival that will be taking place in San Beranardino, CA at the San Manuel Amphitheater & Campgrounds. It had taken last year off, but with a new album coming out this year, the festival is returning with a vengeance, and not just in Japan. This time, instead of traveling to multiple locations as a one-day event, it will be a three-day festival with over 60 bands. Slipknot will be playing closing sets on Saturday and Sunday. And in case it wasn’t apparent that the band will have a new album coming out, all ticket buyers will receive a digital copy of the band’s album delivered to them on release date.

Knotfest is a chance for Slipknot to bring the sensory-overload of a wild European festival–and now we’re coming for you, California,” says Slipknot’s M. Shawn Crahan (Clown). “Playing two different sets over two nights at one location is a new experience in the history of this band. This year’s Knotfests in the U.S. and Japan are going to be on another level.

In addition to the bands that were already announced, there are nearly 30 more bands that have yet to be announced. In addition, there will be a carnival atmosphere, with fire breathers, freaks, rides, a zipline, stilt-walkers and more.
