Dream Theater won’t premiere their new album on a website or a streaming music service. Instead, they’ve announced that they’ll perform their new album live and in person, playing the new material on a European tour starting in February of 2016 on a seven date tour starting in London, England, with more dates coming.

Guitarist John Petrucci recently told Revolver Magazine about the new album:

“The new album will be a further progression of the band’s creative identity. Every time that we go into the studio, we always try to make something that’s better than the last. Everybody in the band has this kind of attitude where we love doing what we do, we’re very lucky to be able to do what we do, and we feel that the best is still to come. That’s partially why we self-titled our last album, because it signified a new beginning, and the strength of the belief that we have in the future of the band.”

Dream Theater has been working on this new album since earlier this year, readying the follow up to 2013’s self-titled album which debuted at #7 when it came out, selling nearly 34,000 copies in its first week of release. To reveal the new album live will be a challenge, but if any band can pull it off it’s Dream Theater.
