behemothtourIt’s been a bit since we’ve heard from Behemoth. The band released The Satanist, viewed by many as the best album of their career, back in 2014, and singer Adam “Nergal” Sarski suggested that the band might not be able to top it. He also said that a follow-up wasn’t up there on his list of priorities. All of this makes sense in context, now that the band has announced a North American tour that will find them playing The Satanist in it’s entirety. Myrkur will open the 13-date tour.

It’s not just the performance of their most recent album that will make this a special tour. Sharon Toxic of Toxic Vision has been working with the band to create their iconic-looking videos, their stage outfits, onstage props, and more. For this tour, “The Congregation,” an exhibit that’s being called “a symbiosis of Behemoth and Toxic Vision,” will be available to watch. Nergal commented about this collaboration:

“We’ve always pushed ourselves very hard trying to reach the highest peaks of artistic creativity. This time around we are not only coming back to perform ‘The Satanist’ in its entirety, but are also bringing along a collaboration that’s unheard of! Toxic Vision’s renowned and absolutely brilliant artist and designer from Canada, whom we have worked with on several projects in the past (Behemoth stage gear, video clip costumes…) will be accompanying us on this trek with a unique exhibition called ‘The Congregation’! We are beyond excited to see how these synergies co-exist! Sharon, it’s an honour to welcome you on board!”
