Happy birthday to Behemoth’s Nergal

Posted by on June 10, 2014

The success that Behemoth has seen recently, especially with the release of The Satanist, is something that only a few black metal bands get to see. The music video for “Blow Your Trumpet Gabriel” was even nominated for a Golden God this year. A big part of the success of Behemoth is from the never-tiring work of frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski. From Behemoth’s debut, when it was only Nergal and a drummer, he was writing solid black metal. Not only that, but he has a rather unique ability to let his music grow as he has, evolving Behemoth’s sound over the years while still keeping the overall spirit of the band. Nergal was born on June 10th, 1977, and to celebrate, we’ve picked a track from each of the band’s albums to pay tribute to him.

Here are some of our favorite tracks from each Behemoth album:

“Wolves Guard My Coffin” from Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)

“The Dark Forest (Cast Me Your Spell)” from Grom

“The Past is Like a Funeral” from Pandemonic Incantations

“Ceremony of Shiva” from Satanica

“The Act of Rebellion” from Thelema.6

“As Above So Below” from Zos Kia Cultus (Here and Beyond)

“Sculpting the Throne ov Seth” from Demigod

“Be Without Fear” from The Apostasy

“Shemhamforash” from Evangelion

“The Satanist” from The Satanist
