The success that Behemoth has seen recently, especially with the release of The Satanist, is something that only a few black metal bands get to see. The music video for “Blow Your Trumpet Gabriel” was even nominated for a Golden God this year. A big part of the success of Behemoth is from the never-tiring work of frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski. From Behemoth’s debut, when it was only Nergal and a drummer, he was writing solid black metal. Not only that, but he has a rather unique ability to let his music grow as he has, evolving Behemoth’s sound over the years while still keeping the overall spirit of the band. Nergal was born on June 10th, 1977, and to celebrate, we’ve picked a track from each of the band’s albums to pay tribute to him.
