How trustworthy is …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead bassist Autry Fulbright II? That’s the question you’ll have to ask yourself if you’re looking forward to hearing new music from Refused. “In austria tonight for the ahoi pop festival weekend along with st. vincent and this guy’s band invsn which he’s doing between finishing vocals for the new refused album that’s coming out next year,” the caption for the below Instagram photo says. Pictured is Refused vocalist Dennis Lyxzen, who’s also in INVZN.
If there actually is a Refused album coming next year, at least one other big hint has been given recently. Consider that former guitarist Jon Brännströmn recently commented via the band’s Facebook page that he’d been fired from them. If the band didn’t plan on doing anything, why would they fire a guitar player? The band subsequently released a statement saying they weren’t sure why he chose that time to quit, but that didn’t make things any less cryptic. We’ve reached out to their management, and if they have anything other than a “no comment,” we’ll let you know.
