We talk a great deal amount about the problems facing the music industry here at Metal Insider, but we know what you’re really thinking. We know that you’re dying to hear what advice KISS bassist/pimp businessman Gene Simmons would give to a struggling industry. And in sum, what the demon, blood-spewing former contestant of Celebrity Apprentice advices is…to sue the crap out of anyone who steals your music.

During a panel at the MIPCOM Convention in Cannes, France, Simmons pretty much recommended to go on a suing rampage, saying:

Make sure your brand is protected. Make sure there are no incursions. Be litigious. Sue everybody. Take their homes, their cars. Don’t let anybody cross that line…The music industry was asleep at the wheel, and didn’t have the balls to sue every fresh-faced, freckle-faced college kid who downloaded material. And so now we’re left with hundreds of thousands of people without jobs. There’s no industry.”

It’s hard enough to take an individual who brags about selling condoms and coffins branding his band’s name on it seriously. But as ArsTechnica.com points out, suing P2P downloaders didn’t exactly work out too well for the RIAA back in 2008. Regardless, it is rather amusing to watch Simmons babble on. You can read ArsTechnica.com’s full report or watch a clip of Simmons’ appearance on the panel above.
