Last week, we got the chance to hear our first taste of Gojira’s new EP, the proceeds of which will be given to the anti-whaling organization Sea Shepherd. Not only did we freak out because “Of Blood And Salt” sounds awesome, but also because it features Devin Townsend and Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal. Well now we know even more about the EP simply referred to as the Sea Shepherd EP, including who else will be making an appearance.

In a new interview with the U.K.’s Metal Hammer Magazine, singer/guitarist Joe Duplantier revealed that Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe, In Flames’ Anders Fridén, and Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy’s Max Cavalera will also be making appearances on the new EP. We’ll give you a moment to pick your jaw back up from the ground. That’s a stellar lineup of guests, and if the rest of the EP is as good as the track featuring Townsend and Thordendal…holy crap we are excited for this new EP!

But it looks like we won’t have to settle for only a new EP from Gojira. In the same interview, Duplantier confirmed that the EP, set to be released in September, will be followed by a new full length album. Though Duplantier admitted that the album is still being composed, he said that it should be out by the end of the year. You can read the rest of his interview with Metal Hammer to find out what he says about the new material, as well as about Gojira’s reasoning behind the charity EP, online. As of now, we’re counting down the days until September (even though we don’t know the exact day of its release).
