The members of early aughts grunge band Puddle of Mudd minus Wes Scantline have to be the most patient musicians ever. Knowing that at any point in time, their singer might be arrested for taking a ride on a luggage carousel at an airport, accusing an audience member of stealing his house, and of course, countless other times where he freaked out onstage, yelled at the band and walked offstage is more often than anyone should have to put up with. A cursory glance at the band’s Wikipedia page suggests that there’s been a solid amount of turnover, and his current lineup has only been together since 2014, but all of the aforementioned stuff happened since then. The reaction from many has been that Scantlin really needs to clean himself up, and according to the band, that’s exactly what’s now happening.
The day before Christmas, Puddle of Mudd posted the following on their
:

Here’s hoping that rehab sticks this time. It’s also uncertain whether or not Scantlin has tried rehab before. Also, since the band’s current lineup, they haven’t released an album yet, and aside from 2011’s covers album Re:(disc)overed, haven’t released an album since 2009. Maybe this will translate into a new album from the band? Let’s be honest, none of us are holding our breath for a new album from Puddle of Mudd, but no one wants the guy to die, either. So whether it was court-ordered or Scantlin really wants to change, hopefully everything works out for him.
