There are a ton of great metal sites out there but not too many of them focusing on being both a music blog and a parenting blog. That’s where The Metal Dad comes in. Created by Metal Insider contributor and 666 Days of Metal mastermind, Chip McCabe, The Metal Dad is not only metal, but it chronicles the long, strange, and often amusing trip of parenting – something McCabe knows a lot about being a father of four. Coupling the traditional album reviews and interviews of both metal and non-metal subjects with more unique content (such as having his kids review tracks off recent metal releases) even if you don’t have kids there is something of interest to find.
Not only is The Metal Dad taking to the blogosphere, but he’s taking to the airwaves as well. Beginning January 28, The Metal Dad radio show can be found streaming on Cygnus Radio. This one hour show focusing on all things heavy, and co-hosted by McCabe and his brood, will air every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. EST with a re-air on Friday afternoons at 1 p.m. EST.
