Indecision guitarist wins NYC Democratic primary City Council vote

Posted by on September 14, 2017

Political candidates can be confusing as of late, especially given Kid Rock’s recent alleged campaign speech. However, there are a few who have made a career change out of it, like Indecision guitarist Justin Brannan. A few months ago we discovered his straight-edge lifestyle and interest in politics led him to run for a City Council seat in the 43rd District in Brooklyn. The results from New York’s primary election are in and in the District 43 Democratic primary, Brannan prevailed by 39% of the vote.

Gothamist reported:

Justin L. Brannan, who formerly served as current City Council Member Vincent Gentile’s chief-of-staff, eked out a victory with 38.66 percent of the vote; challenger and Democratic Socialists of America-endorsed Khader El-Yateem came close behind, with 31.26 percent of the vote. Brannan will face Republican John Quaglione for a chance to represent Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Bensonhurst, and Bath Beach.

Good luck to Brannan in November. With all that’s happened this past week, it’s encouraging to read about a metal musician in the news for positive reasons.
