Back in May we learned that Textures were working on a new album, but they were actually working on two! ‘The 60 minute Phenotype will come out first on February 5th, 2016. The second album is called Genotype, and that will be a 45 minute single track which will come out in 2017. Albums number five and six will both be released by Nuclear Blast.

It’s been since 2011’s Dualism that the band has released new material, but they offer up a reasonable defense:

“Music is no fast food! Details are crafted and re-crafted. Extra layers are created and stretched to form the ultimate tension span for years to last.”

This will be the first new material to feature Joe Tal on guitar, having joined the band in 2013. It’s the second effort for keyboardist Uri Dijk, who appeared on 2011’s Dualism. After the release Phenotype the band will kick off an 11-date European tour, with our fingers crossed for future US dates.
