Textures explore ‘New Horizons’ with new song

Posted by on November 13, 2015

Textures have been working on new material since May, and today they’ve released a track from Phenotype, the first of two upcoming albums. The new song, “New Horizons,” sees the return of former (and founding)  guitarist Jochem Jacobs, and it’s the first new material to feature guitarist Joe Tal who joined the band in 2013.

It’s been awhile since 2011’s Dualism that we’ve heard new music from Textures, but the band band had a perfectly reasonable explanation:

“Music is no fast food! Details are crafted and re-crafted. Extra layers are created and stretched to form the ultimate tension span for years to last.”

“New Horizons” appear on Phenotype which comes out February 5th. It’s the first of two upcoming Textures albums, with Genotype coming out in 2017. European tour dates have been announced in support of the tour, but we’ll hold out home for US dates at some point next year.
