Italian alpine skier and Rise Of Voltage frontman Dominik Paris took home the bronze medal in the downhill at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy. The 36-year-old competed in his fifth Winter Games, stood alongside gold medalist Franjo von Allmen of Switzerland and silver medalist Giovanni Franzoni of Italy.

However, Paris’ bid for a second medal was cut short on Wednesday (11), during the super-G event, when one of his ski bindings unexpectedly released less than 20 seconds into his run. After losing his left ski just a few turns from the start hut in Bormio, he slid to a stop on the upper section of the Stelvio slope. He was unharmed in the incident.

Stepping outside of sports with speed in tact, Paris fronts the Italian groove metal band Rise Of Voltage, formed in 2017, with two albums released: 2018’s Time and 2024’s Escape. The group appears to be unsigned; perhaps this is a good time to land a record deal or simply follow their social media channels.
