ProgPower USA is the premier U.S. festival for progressive and power metal. For 20 years now they have been a key part in bringing some of the biggest and best names in the international progressive and power metal scenes to the United States. It takes place every September at the Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, Georgia and is known for the quality of acts it brings, the continued high production standard, and the familial atmosphere of the event.

Every year at the festival, on Friday right before the headliner takes the stage, the ProgPower USA attendees gather in the theater for an event that boasts a crowd to rival any other act to play, the yearly roster announcement. Right in the middle of the action, the next year’s line-up gets announced.

Next year will feature headliners Turilli / Lione Rhapsody, having just released their first album under the name this year but serving as a reincarnation of an early Rhapsody lineup, and Conception (ft Roy Khan, formerly of Kamelot). There will also be a special Queen tribute set by vocalist Jeff Scott Soto, the debut of The Night Flight Orchestra (ft Björn Strid and David Andersson, and a personal specialty for me), and other US debuts / exclusive performances as listed below.

Only 900 tickets will be made available to the general public, and I can stress the urgency enough if you intend to attend. This year’s festival sold-out in only 3 hours, the fastest to date. The show will take place September 9-12, 2020, with tickets  for days 3 and 4 on sale Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10am EST.
