According to TMZ, Joey Jordison’s estate has filed a lawsuit against Slipknot, alleging that the band exploited his death for marketing their latest album, 2022’s The End, So Far. The complaint, filed by Steamroller, LLC in June, claims Slipknot failed to return at least twenty-two items promised to Jordison after abruptly removing him from the band in 2013. The lawsuit accuses Corey Taylor and Michael Shawn “Clown” Crahan of withholding musical instruments, gear, and wardrobe, incorporating them into a traveling Slipknot museum, Knotfest, and profiting from Jordison’s devoted fanbase. The complaint reveals that Jordison, who co-founded Slipknot in 1995, faced mistreatment and an abrupt dismissal via email in 2013. In 2015, a release agreement required the return of Jordison’s property, but the lawsuit alleges Slipknot members never intended to fulfill their obligations.

Furthermore, the lawsuit condemns Taylor and Crahan for heartlessly capitalizing on Jordison’s death, citing the release of The End, So Far and misleading statements about contacting Jordison’s family. Slipknot countered the claims, seeking the case to be dismissed.
