Guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams are hinting at the unexpected return of Nevermore, a development many thought impossible following vocalist Warrel Dane’s passing in December 2017 from a heart attack while recording his solo album Shadow Work. However, the teaser, shared on both Loomis and Williams socials, suggests more details about the band’s resurgence are likely on the way.

Released earlier today (27th), the one-minute clip features Nevermore imagery, silhouettes believed to be Loomis and Williams, and phrases like “Resurrecting The Dream” and “A New Chapter Rises.” The teaser also shows the Nevermore logo and the year 2025.

Nevermore disbanded in 2011 after Loomis, and Williams left due to personal differences between Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard. The band’s seventh and final studio album, The Obsidian Conspiracy, was released in 2010.

Loomis left Arch Enemy in December 2023 after nearly a decade. Regarding today’s surprising news, fans seem divided about the potential revival: excited or skeptical. Questions remain about who will complete the lineup and what shape this return will take as we await more details.
