Finnish metal band Amorphis has announced two live streamed anniversary shows to celebrate 30 years as a band. The shows are set to take place June 3 and 4 through SemiLive.

The two dates will be geared towards fans in different parts of the world. June 3 will be for those in the US and other western countries, taking place at 5PM PST/8PM EST. June 4 will be for fans in their native Finland, as well as Europe, the UK and Russia at 21:00 EEST.

Said guitarist and founding member Esa Holopainen in a statement on the SemiLive show page:

“Amorphis has received a lot of requests for live streaming, so we have now planned two different anniversary shows which will be streamed for the fans. No one knows how long this current situation will last, so these streams are probably the only Amorphis shows in the near future.”

Amorphis were initially supposed to celebrate their anniversary with a North American summer/fall tour. The trek would have included Entombed A.D. and Nervosa as support and would have found the band playing their 1994 sophomore album, Tales From The Thousand Lakes, in full every night. However, the band decided to postpone the tour earlier this month due to the COVID-19 pandemic, telling fans that they plan to reschedule the dates.

Tickets to both live streams can be purchased on semilive.fi. A standard ticket runs 8,50€ ($9.32) while a band support ticket, which “allows fans to support the band in the midst of a difficult situation,” runs 18,50€ ($20.29). All tickets allow fans to access the show live, as well as replay it for 48 hours. Special edition “Stream From The North Side” t-shirts will be available in the two weeks running up to the shows.

Amorphis released their latest album, Queen of Time, in 2018.
