Details of a new Devil Wears Prada EP came out in June, before the band hit the road on this year’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. With that wrapped up, the band just released “Alien,” a new song from their upcoming EP, Space, which comes out August 21st on Rise Records.

Said vocalist Mike Hranica on the new EP:

“We learned a lot from the ‘Zombie’ EP, we wanted each song on the ‘Space’ EP to have a specificity about it, to have its own identity separate from the others, to have its own sound, but still have them all united in concept. We talked about a lot of different themes, but ‘space’ just felt right.
Making this EP was a great experience because it allowed me to open up my imagination and creativity, not to be hindered by having too much knowledge of the subject and become overly analytical, being able to write a more fictional narrative. We really look forward to making more records like this.”

The Devil Wears Prada signed to Roadrunner Records in 2013, but were one-and-done after putting out 8:18 in late 2013. The album debuted at #20, and was the top metal release the week it was released, but it wasn’t enough apparently as they returned to Rise Records earlier this year.
