SixFeetUnder-CryptOfTheDevilSix Feet Under aren’t always the most subtle band, which is probably why the first track to be released from their forthcoming 11th album is called “Open Coffin Orgy.” The album itself is called Crypt of the Devil, and it will be out on May 5th on Metal Blade. And although Chris Barnes hasn’t changed the band’s style all that much since forming over 20 years ago, the band does welcome a new collaborator, Phil “Landphil” Hall of Cannabis Corpse. Hall and Barnes wrote the album together after the two hit it off in 2013 when their bands toured together. In fact, Barnes lent his vocals to “Individual Pot Patterns” on Cannabis’ 2014 From Wisdom to Baked album. Given that that Hall’s band is directly influenced by Cannibal Corpse, which Barnes was an original member of, it makes sense that the two would eventually collaborate.

“Open Coffin Orgy” is a nice demonstration of the two working together. Barnes says that Hall’s take on his band is “where my wheelhouse is – it’s where I thrive vocally and lyrically.” Here’s the track listing of Crypt of the Devil, which can be preordered here:

1. Gruesome
2. Open Coffin Orgy
3. Broken Bottle Rape
4. Break The Cross In Half
5. Lost Remains
6. Slit Wrists
