Old Man Gloom trolled us all with their confusing announcement aboutThe Ape of God being a double album and there being a fake one sent to press. ‘The Ape of God’ is two albums, and they are streaming online if you want to check them both out. This is the sixth release from OMG. The band is made up of Aaron Turner from ISIS, Nate Newton from Converge, and Caleb Scofield from Cave In, Santos Montano, and Luke Scarola. The album(s) will be released tomorrow, but you don’t have to wait. Stereogum has the first album streaming here. The Quietus has the second album streaming here.

Aaron Turner has been busy since ISIS broke up in 2010. His record label Hydra Head Records folded in 2012. Then he started a new record label called SIGE, he reignited Old Man Gloom in 2012, and he teamed up with Profound Lore to release the double-LP The Ape of God. He’s been busy this month trolling the music press with an incomplete copy of the new album(s) because he thought we’d leak it.
