Mötley Crüe haven’t announced plans for a follow-up album to 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles yet, but they will be releasing a single. It’s surprising that the band haven’t called something “Sex” before, but that’s the name of their new song, which you can hear a snippet of above. The song will make its full premiere tomorrow on SiriusXM, and will be made available at online outlets this coming Tuesday (17), which is a few days before their tour with KISS begins. Having heard the snippet, it sounds like pretty straight-ahead Crüe, and it really even sound that much like Vince Neil singing until the end of the snippet. You’ll be able to find out for yourself by listening to SiriusXM tomorrow, but it will also be available for free on Monday at www.motley.com ahead of its on-sale date on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Tommy Lee has attempted to clarify his anti-picture rant that he posted on Facebook recently. He told Fuse that it was the result of a mortuary receptionist asking for a picture as he was picking up his mom’s ashes.
“My mother passed away recently,” Lee explains. “I was picking up her ashes to take them home with me to do a service for my mother. And so I’m at the mortuary, I’ve got my mom’s ashes in my right hand, and my girlfriend, I’m holding her hand with my left hand, and we’re walking out. And the f**king lady, the receptionist, goes, ‘Oh my god, can I take a picture with you?’ And I looked and her and went [takes a deep breath], ‘I’m sorry, but I’d rather not.'”
“Then she was like, ‘Are you sure?’ And I couldn’t even believe it—she asked me if I was sure. I’m f**king standing there with my mom’s ashes and it’s not the f**king happiest day on the planet for me. I couldn’t believe it. I go, ‘Okay, that’s officially the most f**ked up thing that has ever happened to me.’ I called the manager and said, ‘You’re not going to believe what just happened. I don’t expect you to fire her or anything like that, but that was the most disrespectful bullsh*t I’ve ever experienced in my life. I sat in the car, and I’m shaking, and my girlfriend goes, ‘I’m so sorry honey,’ and I was speechless. I didn’t even know what to say. I couldn’t believe a human being just did that.”
That begins to make a bit of sense as to why Lee made that post, but as Metal Sucks points out, his mom passed away in March. Why would he wait until June to make the post. And while that’s a perfectly good reason to freak out over being asked to have your picture taken, why wouldn’t he have brought it up in the initial post. It would have saved a lot of people thinking he’s unreasonable.
