Whenever Dave Mustaine overhauls Megadeth, the first record from the new lineup always has a sense of urgency to it, like the band has something to prove. that’s proven to be the case so far with Dystopia and its first two singles, “The Threat is Real” and “Fatal Illusion.” The band unveiled the title track from the album today, and it’s a shredder. It’s the most melodic of the three tracks, but it shares the same DNA as Rust In Peace‘s “Hangar 18.” It’s got a driving, riffy beginning that breaks down at the end as an instrumental shred-fest between Mustaine and new axeman Kiko Loureiro. This is the first Megadeth album in a while that we’re pretty psyched to hear the rest of.
