If you watch Fox News like we do (which is to say we don’t), then you probably missed this too. On last night’s edition of The O’Reilly Factor, host Bill O’Reilly spoke about Megadeth and gave a plug to this week’s #3 album in the country, Dystopia. It turns out that sucking up to the conservative host might have worked out. A few weeks ago, Mustaine tweeted a shot of four of his books, stating “Bill, Dave here. I bought all of your books. How about you get my new album?”
O’Reilly probably didn’t buy the album, stating he’s more of an R&B fan. Really? He didn’t seem like one when he started a meme back in 2003. He displayed the tweet and said that although he would listen with an open mind there are some people on his staff that are huge fans. He played a clip of the title track’s video, which is more promotion than Mustaine probably could have asked for. There are probably a lot of Fox News viewers that were onetime Megadeth fans that didn’t even know they had a new album out. Plus, the clip is worth watching just to hear O’Reilly say “Megadeth.”
