Chilean progressive metal band Crisálida have announced their upcoming album, Niños Dioses, scheduled to arrive on November 16. The concept album is inspired by the Incan Capac Cocha ritual, where children were sacrificed to the gods to protect the people. The album’s narrative, centered on this ancient tradition, is matched by powerful and melancholic compositions.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Daniel Cardoso (Anathema), who also recorded the drums in Portugal, Niños Dioses features tracks such as “Destino,” “Volcano, and the title track “Niños Dioses. At a listening party, the band previews these songs alongside visuals reflecting the cultural themes in the lyrics.

Crisálida also introduced their new drummer, Pablo Stagnaro. Two singles from the album are already available and the band will debut the album live at SCD Egaña on November 16.

Cardoso comments:

“It was a pleasure to contribute my musical identity to Crisálida’s new album“. The new sonic strength of the percussion undoubtedly gives it a more progressive metal approach, rather than the melodic one we were used to hearing in previous albums.”

Cinthia Santibañez adds:

“I was inspired by the spiritual story of having a child god in the Natural History Museum, knowing that this child slept and died in Cerro el Plomo to take care of his people and the whole valley of Santiago. I studied for a long time and asked for the appropriate sponsorship from the Museum and the Aymara Inti Marka Association to do a work with a lot of love and a lot of respect.”

Crisálida is:

Cinthia Santibañez – Voice and Composition
Braulio Aspé – Bass
Augusto Maldonado – Guitar
Damián Agurto – Guitar
Pablo Stagnaro – Drums
