It’s not every day that a metal cookbook comes out, and it’s only once a year that the CMJ Music Marathon comes to New York, so it made perfect sense that Metal Insider team up with Mosh Potatoes for our second annual Metal Insider party during the CMJ Music Marathon.

The party took place at Idle Hands Bar, and was catered by author Steve Seabury and his family, and featured several recipes from the book, including Chuck Schuldiner’s chili, Lita Ford’s black bean and corn salsa and Jamey Jasta’s banana pound cake. There were also early copies of Mosh Potatoes (out on November 16) available courtesy of Simon & Schuster. And to ensure that no one went thirsty, there were also adult beverages thanks to Lagunitas, Alma Tequila and Izze (the party favorite was the “Screamin’ Seabury!”).

The soiree also served as a listening party for The Damned Things debut album, Ironiclast, and featured giveaways courtesy of the Saw 3D soundtrack and Musicskins. In addition to bloggers, artist managers, radio stations and record labels, among those in attendance was Joe Trohman from The Damned Things, Howard Stern show/Charred Walls of the Damned drummer Richard Christy, and members of Black Water Rising, Anaka, Moth Eater and The Binary Code. Check out some dope pics of the party below.
