etid kurt bWe know that Every Time I Die has been working on new material, and should have something released by the time they embark on the Warped Tour this summer. Now it appears that they’ll be recording said new material with none other than Converge guitarist and noted producer Kurt Ballou.

Ballou alluded to this in a Facebook post showing off Paiste Cymbals he has at his GodCity Studio. “I hope Every Time I Die doesn’t break them,” Ballou teased. Granted this doesn’t exactly confirm whether Every Time I Die will be recording anything at GodCity Studio, let alone if Ballou will be working on the new album. However, Every Time I Die has been pretty vocal on how influential Converge has been to them. So not only does Ballou working with them on their new album make sense, but is also extremely exciting.

UPDATE: Every Time I Die has since confirmed that they are recording new material at GodCity Studio with Kurt Ballou. Singer Keith Buckley had the following to say about the upcoming sessions:

“Kurt Ballou had always intimidated the living shit out of me, so I was overjoyed when the decision was made to record our next record with him at GodCity and I mean that sincerely. I’ve been a fan of his work for over a decade. His records are terrifying and moving and they sound like they were written and recorded under great duress, which is exactly how this style of music should be made. This month we join the pantheon. I couldn’t be more excited to see what he helps us learn about our own band that we didn’t realize for the past 15 years.”
