Lemmy says goodbye to Philthy Animal in touching tribute

Posted by on November 13, 2015

As shock waves and condolences continue to reverberate around the hard rock, punk and metal world about the passing of former Motorhead drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor, Lemmy Kilmister himself weighed in on the passing of his onetime (or twotime, technically) drummer. In a post on Motorhead’s Instagram page, Lemmy both paid tribute to Taylor and took a swipe at George Bush (although we’re not sure which Bush he was talking about):

Philthy Animal, and he was our drummer twice in our career. Now he’s died and it really pisses me off that they take somebody like him and leave George Bush alive. So muse on that. We’re still going, we’re still going strong, it’s just first Würzel and now Philthy, it’s a shame man. I think this rock n roll business might be bad for the human life. Oh well.”

Taylor’s cause of death still hasn’t been revealed. The drummer, who last played with Motorhead in 1992, was 61. He played with the band from 1975 to 1984, and again from 1987 to 1992.
