Hailing from Austin’s underground scene, Sadistic Force are set to unleash their new EP, Morbid Odyssey, tomorrow (22nd). Blending blackened speed with old-school tenacity, the release channels the spirit of Judas Priest, Motörhead, and the NWOBHM. The group recently shared an NSFW video for their latest single, “Portrait of Torment,” featured in our recent videos recap, which you can check out here. In anticipation, the band has teamed up with Metal Insider to share an exclusive track-by-track guide, providing a behind-the-scenes look at what’s promised to be their most ferocious work yet.

Portrait of Torment

The synth intro to PORTRAIT OF TORMENT and the guitar solo were both performed by Mark Pursino from NYC thrash trio Electrocutioner.

According to Mark:

“I just envisioned some distinguished gentleman chopping up some wonderful ladies and the synth intro is my imagining of what he listens to while he dissects them. I combined a mysterious arpeggio with some type of respirator/breathing tube sound effect to make it feel inhuman and disconnected. The solo actually came to me pretty fast. There’s a few changes in rhythm underneath it so I wanted to have different voices.”

We made a music video for this song and it is by far our most brutal. Sadistic Force has a tradition of making gruesomely violent music videos and this one took things to a new level! It can be found on YouTube and Facebook. Watch if you think you can handle it!

Soft Flesh for the Dungeon of the Damned

Starting out with a cascading tom roll by drummer JP, this track takes the listener on a sonic journey deep into the dark depths of a torture dungeon. We did a music video for this one as well. As is appropriate for the lyrical theme, the video features bound women in peril. The strike of the torturer’s lash knows no mercy, much like the ferocious onslaught of riffs in this song.

Strike After Strike

The spiritual successor to STRIKE OF THE IRON off Sadistic Force’s debut album, the nonstop intensity of STRIKE AFTER STRIKE showcases the development of the band’s sound in a big way.

This one got an official lyric video. The concept of the “Cunting Hour” was introduced into Sadistic Force lore with this song, and may be explored further in the future. James also incorporated the concept in his post-apocalyptic action horror novel Children of the Gore. Check out James Oliver Horror and Pure Abandon Press for more information on that.

Matteo Von Bewitcher from Satanic speed metal go-hards Bewitcher added his signature guitar sound with a blistering guest guitar solo that meets the barreling barrage of riffs head on.

Morbid Odyssey

This is the first Sadistic Force song about doing drugs. As depicted on the cover art, our subject can’t get enough of the psychedelic trip produced from smoking human remains.

Tony Rot of Hellrot (who contributed to the 2022 Sadistic Rot split) provided a killer guest guitar solo on this track. We recently played Fast n’ Loud fest in Monterrey, Mexico and Tony got onstage with us to do vocals for a song, which was a ton of fun.

Abnormal Cruelties

James played the guitar solo on this one. Couldn’t let our friends have all the fun! This song incorporates more elements of black metal than any other Sadistic Force song thus far.

Bassist Mike Gupta lures the listener into the coven with sinister bass lines, a wide variety of blasting techniques are ferociously deployed on the drum kit, and the witch’s brew of diabolic riff-craft beckons the listener to bring matches and lighter fluid to their local church.

We released a live video of this song to promote our concert video VHS tape (yes, you read that right) called Blastkrieg at Valhalla, which is a full-length, HD multi-cam video with mixed and mastered audio from the venue soundboard. Eventually Blastkrieg at Valhalla will be made available online, so stay tuned for that. For now, the die-hard physical media collectors get the whole thing. We heard a rumor that it made some guy’s VCR burst into flames and ignite his grandma’s bible.

The new Sadistic Force EP, Morbid Odyssey, arrives tomorrow (22nd) and is available for pre-order at this location
