The first memorial show held in honor of late GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot was packed with its own special moments. However, Smoot’s band mates are planning an even bigger memorial show to help raise funds for his family.

Last night, GWAR announced plans via Facebook to hold another memorial show for the fallen guitarist on March 15 at the National Theater in Richmond, VA. While some members, including frontman Dave Brockie, performed at the first show earlier this month with their other bands, this will mark the first memorial show to feature a set from GWAR. Also set to appear on the bill is Municipal Waste, Ghoul and Suppression, while there will also be raffles and prizes throughout the night.

In addition to revealing plans for the event, GWAR let it slip that they would also be touring with Municipal Waste and Ghoul on the second half of their Return of the World Maggot U.S. tour. Exact dates and further details will be officially announced sometime next week. Not only is it cool to find out about this awesome touring package, but it’s still great to see that the members of GWAR are still trying their best to help raise funds for the Smoot Family Fund.
