Last week, GWAR announced plans to hold a memorial show for the late Cory Smoot’s family in Richmond, VA on March 16 (not the 15 as previously said) along with Municipal Waste and Ghoul. In addition, GWAR promised to announce details in regards to the second leg of their Return of the World Maggot Tour U.S. tour in the following week. And today, the Scumdogs of the Universe have kept true to their word.

Dates for GWAR’s Spring tour have been officially announced. While Municipal Waste and Ghoul will appear on the entire trek, Legacy of Disorder will join the tour on March 20 in Boston. Frontman Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus) had the following to say about the upcoming tour and the past few months for the band following Smoot’s (aka Flattus Maximus) death:

“All the years of doing GWAR could never have prepared us for what we have been through, and I want to thank the metal community and the extended GWAR family for all of your support. Finishing that last tour was the hardest thing we have ever had to do, and we still have about half of the country left to hit.

We will continue as a four-piece, with the special tribute to Flattus at the end of the show, in order to give our fans a chance to say goodbye to our fallen Scumdog brother in true GWAR fashion-covered in blood and rocking the fuck out! After this tour is over we can start looking to the future and begin to put this tragedy behind us. But for now we are still in ‘Hail Flattus’ mode!”

You can check out an entire rundown of dates for the Return of the World Maggot Tour Spring tour after the jump, with even more shows expected to be announced soon. In case you’d still like to help Smoot’s family, a donation can still be made to the Smoot Family Fund.
