Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Kill the Lights (ex Bullet for My Valentine, Still Remains, Throw the Fight, and Threat Signal) guitarist Jordan Whelan as he discovered this is the perfect time to adopt a dog.

What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?

Just before the lock down, I adopted a dog and it turned out to be the perfect time. We’ve been bonding and spending a lot of time outside. Aside from that there is always the occasional beer.

Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?

I’ve had Judas Priest’s Firepower on repeat for at least a month now. The songwriting and production on this record is incredible!

A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?

Oddly enough my wife and I have mastered making home made sour dough with a starter we’ve developed. I’ve also started growing tomato plants inside to transfer to the outdoors once the Michigan weather allows. Also homemade pizza is a must.

In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?

I just finished re-watching Better Call Saul seasons 1 through 4. Waiting until season 5 is ready to binge through. I also am reading Steven King’s “The Stand.”

What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?

Keep your chins up, blast metal and grab a beer. We will beat this thing and normality will eventually return.
