Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

When your album is second only to Kanye West on the charts, you’re probably doing something right. Such is the case with Ghost and their newest album Prequelle. If it wasn’t apparent by now, the band has become one of the top acts in the hard rock/metal scene. I mean, just look at their most recent tour announcement. And even if you have to be one of those souls that doesn’t “get” the band or you’re just not a fan of their poppier sensibilities, you can at least appreciate the fact a band that started simply as “the band with hoods and the anti-pope for a singer” has come so far since their 2011 debut album. For me personally, Ghost is one of the few bands I’ve followed since the first album, and so I’m happy to see where they’ve wound up.
