Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

We know you hate Insane Clown Posse, so ignore that fact that we continue to add them to this list anyway by focus on the real debut this week: a supergroup featuring seemingly every hard rock/metal musician ever. There’s other notable debuts as well from Kataklysm and Xandria, but next week is looking to bring in quite the horde. And even the week after that when over 10 different bands p out an album on August 21. Oh yeah, August is looking healthy for metal.

Notable Debuts:

Saint Asonia, Saint Asonia (RCA) #10 13,000 sold

This semi-supergroup featuring member of Three Days Grace, Staind and Dark New Day have a really solid top ten debut, suggesting that there’s still an audience for straight ahead active rock-type music.
