Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.

Like many of you, I’m always thirsty for new music. One of the great things about doing MBN is that it often tips me off to new bands. Or, if there’s an album from a band I don’t normally listen to, I check it out if there’s a large amount of hype. Still, when the new year starts it usually takes me a while before I hear a new release that hits me just right. You know, that album that you hear very early on in the year, spin like crazy, then put to the side for a few months before rediscovering it and falling in love all over again. I’m still waiting for that to happen. If you’ve got a new album you really love, yell about in the comments and I’ll go check it out.
