exodusbloodinbloodoutDetails are starting to trickle out about Exodus’ 10th album. Blood In, Blood Out will feature, for the third time, vocalist Steve “Zetro” Souza. It will also feature a guitar solo from none other than former member Kirk Hammett, who went on to play in some other band. And now we know what the album cover looks like. Given that the album brings to mind the title of their first album, Bonded by Blood (not to mention their compilation album Let There Be Blood), features Zetro for the first time in about ten years, and has a guitar solo from Hammett, we’d think it’s safe to say that they’re going for a back to basics retro approach.

If the album art looks iconic and familiar, it’s because Par Olofsson, who illustrated Let There be Blood along with a ton of other metal albums, illustrated the album. here’s how Gary Holt described the album art:

“The concept came from Par Olofsson – I fed him the title and he immediately came up with the final concept, and it’s perfect! One of my favorite covers we’ve ever done and it fits the title and theme to a T!”
