2014 was an interesting year for New Jersey deathcore outfit Fit For An Autopsy. While they toured the U.S. as a supporting band for both DevilDriver and Whitechapel as well as label mates Crowbar, they also had their share of bad luck. While on said DevilDriver / Whitechapel co-headlining tour, both Fit For An Autopsy and Whitechapel were turned away at the Canadian border, and most notably had to temporarily replace their vocalist (Greg Wilburn of Oblige, The Devastated) for the majority of the touring year.
With all of that behind them now, the group is looking forward to a more successful 2015. They are currently gearing up to hit the road with Suicide Silence, Emmure, and label mates Within The Ruins, who just suffered a terrible van accident. To help kick off the first date of this tour, Fit For An Autopsy has revealed that they have completed production on their next full-length album. Though currently unnamed, the LP is expected to be released sometime during the summer of 2015. The upcoming release was produced by the band’s guitarist Will Putney at The Machine Shop in the band’s home state of New Jersey. The album follows up 2013’s Hellbound, the band’s acclaimed debut on eOne / Good Fight music. As Putney explained in a press release, this is album will also feature new vocalist, Joe Badolato of the band Diamond Cutter:
“We found Joe at a perfect time. We had just come off months of touring with a vocalist we knew wasn’t built to handle the lifestyle and stresses that come with being in a full-time band. Joe is an extremely humble and down to earth dude and is a killer singer. Bringing him into Fit For An Autopsy has elevated the band to a really cool creative spot, and we’re excited about the future with him as our frontman.“
Elaborating on what fans could expect on this new album, guitarist Pat Sheridan also included the following:
“The new album is a bit of a step in a new direction for the band. You’ll hear a lot of new influences in our sound and a real creative move towards other genres we have never experimented with until now. It’s dark, sad and aggressive all at once and we’re really happy with the vibe. It’s also a very literal and real record and in more of a first person view of the world than we’ve ever done, and it feels really intense.”
