Philadelphia has a Rocky statue, Detroit is soon to have a Robocop statue, and Austin might be getting a….Danzig statue?

Yup. There’s a part of the city council in Austin called the Austin Music Commission, and in their meeting on June 2nd, there was a proposal to erect a statue of Glenn Danzig on the agenda. This wouldn’t be an ordinary statue of Danzig, though. The proposal was specifically for a statue of the Misfits co-founder riding a dragon.

A man named James Moody, who submitted the proposal said that it originally began “in jest,” but went on to say that if they were “willing to do it in gold, and give it ruby eyes,” he’d submit it as a serious plan. Personally, we think this would be more suited to the late Ronnie James Dio, but he already has his statue in Bulgaria.
