We’ve been listening to Kvelertak’s sophomore album, Meir, for a few days now, and as expected, it slays. If you were a fan of their first album, you’ll like this one equally. The band’s definitely taken the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” model. Like their first album, this was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou. And like their first album, they’ve enlisted Baroness frontman John Baizley to do the album artwork. Instead of an owl this time, there’s a dead bird. And also a ram’s head. And a naked chick. In other words, even before you hear anything from the album, it already rules.

If you haven’t heard “Braun Brenn” yet, get caught up on it hereMeir will be out on March 26 on Roadrunner.
