October 29, that’s when we can expect to hear Skeletonwitch’s new album Serpents Unleashed in its entirety. And while Prosthetic Records has launched pre-orders for the album, they’ve also offered us a new song and cover artwork to hold us over till October.
As you may recall, Skeletonwitch first played the song “Burned From Bone” during a headlining set at Pitchfork’s Show No Mercy showcase at SXSW (and was recently premiered by Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal). Now fans can download it for free by texting SERPENTS to 24587. In case a free download doesn’t entice you, the song can also be heard in behind-the-scenes studio footage of the band recording at GodCity with Converge guitarist/producer Kurt Ballou (see below). Either way, Skeletonwitch’s blistering new track is without a doubt worth multiple plays. As for the cover artwork (see above), we don’t need a press release to tell us that it was done by Baroness’ John Baizley. It’s got his signature colors and designs, and it looks pretty awesome.
Check out the studio footage of Skeletonwitch performing “Burned From Bone,” along with the track listing to Serpents Unleashed, below.
