New & Noteworthy is a weekly column in which we highlight some of the newest rock and metal releases coming out each week. This week brings us new music from Allegaeon, After the Burial, and a solo album from Jordan Rudess of Dream Theater! You can check out the last New & Noteworthy here, and the latest sales numbers in Metal By Numbers. Periphery led up the heavy releases for the week, and deservedly so. Hail Stan is pretty good. Be sure to follow us on Spotify to get this month’s New & Noteworthy Playlist, updated every Friday with the newest metal releases.
Most of week was spent listening to the audiobook of Robert Jordan’s Path of Daggers, the eighth book in The Wheel of Time series. Not metal, but here’s a Blind Guardian song about it to justify this whole thing. I did get to hit the Children of Bodom show at Mr. Smalls this past Sunday. It was a blast, sound was excellent and the set was a good mix of classic Bodom hits and a few from the new album. Wasn’t really familiar with Wolfheart or Swallow the Sun going into it, but they were both really enjoyable life. Overall had a great time.
