In some unfortunate news, vocalist Oli Sykes of Bring Me the Horizon has ruptured his right vocal cord causing the band to postpone upcoming shows. The vocalist went to Twitter to express the severity of the situation:
“I’m gutted to announce we have to cancel the remainder of our American out. I’ve ruptured my right vocal cord, and I’ve been told if I don’t rest it immediately, I’m in serious danger of doing permanent damage. I’ve been trying my best to fulfill our commitments as I really hate letting you guys down, not to mention these shows have been literally the most fun ever. But at this point, me singing would be the equivalent of a footballer running on a broken leg. Once again, I’m so sorry. I hope you all understand.”
The opening band, The Fever 333 also posted about the cancelled shows but referred to the shows as being “postponed.”
“We have been made aware that due to unforeseen circumstances tonight’s event if the “First Live” tour in Phoenix with Bring Me the Horizon has been postponed. To those friends and allies who planned on attending our demonstration, we will be back in Arizona March 23 at @rock102.1kfma day to let them know there’s a fever coming..”
We wish Sykes a speedy recovery. Order their latest album here and check out our review of their Detroit show.
