Taake’s upcoming North American tour has generally been plagued with controversy since it was announced. First of all, it took two years for them to return, due to visa issues. Then Anfita, taking issue with frontman Hoest’s extreme views on religion, successfully rallied to get the New York City show (and perhaps others) cancelled. And while the plug hasn’t been pulled on the tour, opener King Dude has chosen to pull out of the tour. Claiming that he doesn’t preach hate or allow it to happen at his performances, the artist dropped out earlier today.

In an exclusive  interview with Metal Insider over the weekend, Hoest repeated that he’s more or less an equal opportunity offender, stating that he’s performed in front of enthusiastic African Americans and in Israel as well. As of now, all the other dates are still on, and he’ll have to find himself another opener.
