Metal By Numbers is a weekly column in which we look at the top metal sellers and debuts of the week.
Rob Zombie is one of those artists you’d think has a lot of albums, so it’s weird that he’s only released six albums as a solo artist since 1998 (though you could include the four albums from White Zombie and bump it up to ten). At this point, he has a larger filmography than discography, but this isn’t a criticism so much as a simple observation for a man who’s landed in the top ten with all his solo albums and has sold over fifteen million albums worldwide. Then again, there are plenty of other best-selling bands/artists with a smaller discography than their contemporaries (*cough* Tool *cough*). In any case, he’s one of twelve bands on our debut list this week, which is a bit larger than previous weeks. Four of them are in the top fifty, including the much championed Fallujah. Other albums have popped back up again after touring sales among other things.
