Today Rolling Stone, a magazine that recently had boy band 5 Seconds of Summer pose naked for their cover, came out with their list of the 25 most-anticipated metal albums of the year. What would you expect a list like that to have on it? If you’d guess it was led by Metallica, you’d be right. Tool next? Of course. At least they cop to it by leading the article off with those two bands, who have a combined 18 years between their last album. And the magazine has upped it’s metal coverage considerably since former Revolver editor Brandon Geist came on board. There are some gutsy picks among the aforementioned and more mainstream picks like Deftones and Rob Zombie.  Here’s the full list, for those of you playing along at home:

Metallica
Tool
Deftones
Rob Zombie
Meshuggah
Life of Agony
Gojira
Neurosis

Killswitch Engage
