gnr troubadour 2016In what was one of the worst kept secrets (well, second to this secret), Guns N’ Roses played an intimate show late last night at The Troubadour in Hollywood, hours after announcing dates for the “Not In This Life Time” tour. It marked the first time in decades that original members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan shared the stage together, a sight no one (even them) thought would be possible.

The evening also confirmed one of the last big questions many had about the reunion of this “classic lineup”: who the hell else was playing in Guns N’ Roses?! As previous reports were correct; joining the trio were Chinese Democracy era players Dizzy Reed on keyboards, Richard Fortus on guitar and Frank Ferrer on drums. The band was also reportedly joined by second keyboardist Melissa Reese (poor Chris Pitman).

However, despite previous indications (including his own photos on Instagram posted hours before last night’s show), drummer Steven Adler did not perform with the band last night. Whether he, as well as guitarist Izzy Stradlin, will join the band onstage at future songs for at least a few songs remains to be seen (but given the photos on his Instagram account, Adler seems to be at least supportive of the tour).

The show was reportedly very strict on its no camera policy. Unsurprisingly, though, a few fans were able to sneak in a few shots with their phones, with video clips and photos of the evening quickly made its way online. A few of said (admittedly low quality) clips, as well as the show’s set list (which while mostly packed with classic hits did also include performances of  Chinese Democracy’s title track and single “Better”) can be seen below.
