It’s been a few years since the industrial rock group have toured, and even longer (eight years to be exact) since they’ve released new music. But both are about to change, as Orgy have announced dates for the Bad Blood Tour 2012 with the promise of new material to follow. However, fans attending the tour may only recognize one person onstage.
That’s because singer Jay Gordon is the only original member of the band taking part in this incarnation. Gordon made his intentions of reforming Orgy with a new lineup public last November. While he claimed that the original members were ok with his decision and were preoccupied with other projects, guitarists Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck begged to differ. In fact, Shuck was very vocal about his disapproval, calling Gordon’s reformation an “Axl Rose move.”
Joining Gordon in his new version of Orgy will be guitarists Carlton Bost and Ashburn Miller (both of Deadsy), bassist Nic Speck (Run-Run-Run) and drummer Jamie Miller (ex-Snot, The Start). And not only has the new Orgy lineup already started recording new material, but they’ve also apparently collaborated on a song with dubstep king Skrillex (since it worked so well for Korn).
